Works very well, does what it says
I used this to repair two lines running to my hot water heater. The house builder decided to solder the flex connections directly to the pipes so this was my solution to crimp some actual hose bibs onto the existing piping. Fits into tight spaces, and makes a very secure crimp on the connector. I will definately be keeping this around for future house plumbing repairs as I have soldered fittings and valves all over the place that I am going to have to replace in the near future. If you're on the fence about buying such a cheap tool (check out Home Depot, the want at least $3,500 for similar electric tools) don't be. It does requre some strength to pump the hydraulic piston enough to get secure crimp, but it's very doable and I image it's a lot easier than using a leaver action crimp. Not to mention this thing is much more compact than other manual crimpers, I had no issues squeezing it into a tiny water heater closet to get the pipes crimped.

Easy way to fix plumbing problems
This works quick and easy. Take care of a plumbing leak immediately. You can always come back later to replace a leaking pipe. This allows to patch the leak.

Amazing hydraulic tool for a fraction of the cost of a power tool version.
I used this tool to replace and reroute an entire baseboard hot water system over the weekend. The tool worked great and provided a perfect connection of the copper pipes and vega fittings I was using. Instructions included with the tool could be better and there was no description of all of the spare parts included with the tool, it was easier to look at the description on Amazon then follow the "instructions". The hex head on the tiny screw used to unlock and rotate the tool head became stripped after about the 5th use of it to rotate the head so I have to use pliers now, but the tool still works fine. One downside to the tool is that when the pro-press fittings were clamped down on, the became slightly stuck in one half of the tool, a little bit of wiggling was able to free them from the tool. Still an amazing alternative to a power tool version of this tool and fits in relatively small space and anywhere it does not fit can be planned out and done separate before connecting to the larger system of pipes.

Worked GREAT!
As a Commercial GC/DIY Homeowner, I do enough plumbing to know what I'm doing, but no where close to being an expert. The one area that I historically suck is sweating copper. This tool made it very easyNotes for users:- I recomend only using Type L Copper. Not sure Type M will hold up to the pressure of the tool.- Make sure to fully prep your connections just as if you were soldering. Very critical- Fit everything up before you start crimping, and put alignment marks on both the pipe and the connector- Plan your sequencing, and drill holes in studs and top track/plating such that you will be able to crimp inside the wall cavity. It's easy to get yoursef into a position where you cannot crimp a joint due to obstructions.- Be aware of the twist that occurs after you crimp multiple joints in a run. Do small setions at a time, and continue to verify alignment

Very disappointed
I'm very disappointed in the way this tool works. It doesn't crimp the fittings properly. It's squashes ( over-crimps) the center section of the viega fitting before it crimps the sections that are supposed to hold the pipe. This distorts the o-ring causing it to leak, even if you reposition the tool and try to re-crimp it. Plus, the fitting sticks in the die and very difficult to remove. I'm going to try to return it.UPDATE: I have played email tag with this seller many times asking them to send me another 1/2" crimping die which is the most used size. The other sizes work OK but they just don't get it. I was willing to give this tool another chance. I even offered sending the whole to back to them for an exchange. LOT'S OF LUCK if you have any warranty issues with this tool. They tried to throw me a bone by offering various amounts of refunds. Don't waste your money.Update: Months later still no response. Absolutely no warranty! If you have any problems with this tool you're on your own. DON'T BUY THIS TOOL!

Works better than expected.
Although I prefer soldering pipe joints, this unit functioned better than I had expected. I found different brands of fittings produce slightly different results. Using quality fittings, and proper pipe preparation, this unit made a quality repair first time using it.

Easy
I needed to replace an outdoor faucet - it was dripping. I can solder - but it was so close to the house I was afraid of scorching the exterior paint. I finally purchased this - and wow was it easy! Even my wife and kids can operate it!! We have replaced all but 1 outdoor faucet now.
