What the heck is "sheerness"???
As I'm rating this product one of the options is "sheerness", what the heck is that? When I think of sheer I think of a pair of scissors, or a buzz cutter for trimming wool off sheep. Who wrote these star-rating pages anyway? As to the product, it's silicone, what else can be said? If you are a project guy who builds electronic gadgets for the automobile you cannot use hot-glue to adhere anything in them unless you like repairing them 6 months after you deploy them. Silicone can be used in tandem with hot glue to provide stability in hot environments, the hot-glue will hold the items together long enough for the silicone to setup (24 hours usually). happy geeking!

Really good caulk, but not very cost effective
This review will be easy to write. The caulk is first class, with excellent adhesion, quick drying, and clear. Coming from the tube, it's exactly the same as what comes out of the cartridge. The only reason for purchasing the tube is for instances where you can't negotiate the space and angle needed to use the normal caulking gun. For that limitation, you end up paying quite a bit more for what you're getting. If you almost never do home repairs yourself, and the idea of purchasing a caulking gun doesn't make sense, then pay the higher price. I suppose that's why GE offers this option in the first place.

Lifetime means a lifetime
When serious about sealing, I only buy silicone marked as lifetime. When I installed my skylight, as a preventative measure, I ran a bead along the lower seam of window to frame. 23 years later, this skylight has not leaked a drop. I went onto my roof to check this skylight and inspect it for deterioration and at the same time inspected the silicone bead. It still has 100% adhesion and no peeling or cracking. It is seemingly impervious to UV damage as well. Made by GE, the same outfit that keeps many airliners in the air...nuff said.

Worked as Described
Product worked great but one star reduction for two issues; the silicon is not as "clear" as other similar products and the container is not designed for multiple uses. Even a thin layer dries to a milky white so the description of clear is a bit misleading. Silicon is also a very tricky product to work with if you do not use the entire container immediately when opened. Several other brands provide containers that seal well enough to use the left over product weeks or even months later. This particular container did not seal well so a left over screw had to be inserted in the nozzle to create a tight enough seal to prevent the remaining silicon from drying in the container.

Handy size & innovative cap
I use clear silicone for almost everything, and always have a cartridge in the caulking gun. Sometimes though I just need a little dab, and this is much easier than pulling the plug or nail out of the tip of the drying-up cartridge. You know what I'm talkin about. The cap on this doubles as a stand, or you can hang it up on pegboard. It's silicone #2 and contains mold inhibitor so I don't use it on aquarium parts, but for everything else, vinyl, wood, metal, ceramic, plastic, concrete, glass, drywall, you name it, it'll stick to it. Oh, and this actually has kind of a pleasant smell for a change. Great stuff.

Quick capable caulk
Depending on the job need, I’ve used several of GE caulks, with typically quite good and long lasting results. This clear silicone is one I keep coming back to. Although I have the larger tubes that require a caulking gun I’m always doing small jobs that are much easier accomplished with a small 2.8 ounce tube. Keep in mind this tube is very small, though. Fine stuff at a fair price.

holds up great in storage
I've tried so many things to preserve caulks. Golf tees, latex gloves + zip ties, mini condoms meant specifically for it, no matter what I do, unless its within the first week of opening caulk of any type, I never get more than one use. Except with this stuff, I've used a tube a dozen different times over 18-24 months, and it always comes out without any effort and cures as expected. So if you use a little at a time for odd projects, this is perfect. No more paying $8 for a quality tube of caulk to use 5% of it then throw the rest away.

Works as advertised...
I used this around some outdoor light fixtures and it worked perfectly. I am extremely happy with the smaller sized tube, (DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME)as I was hanging out the rear door of a trailer, balanced precariously on a stepladder while applying this and that small size tube allowed me to uniformly apply it around the outer circumference of the light fixture with one hand, while I held onto the doorway with the other. A larger, calking gun application would have been impossible, under these circumstances.
