Petmate Basic Hooded Cat Litter Pan, Made in USA, 18.8"L x 15.2"W x 14"H

I have purchased three of these so far. The first two for a very large male Maine Coon cat (my cat), and the other one for a very TINY, FEMALE Siamese (my 98 year old mother's cat) who must just back up to the back wall and just let go! The high back is a life saver...for the cats! Keeps any wayward urine inside the cat box instead of leaking out over the edge and creating even more stink. Couldn't even tell you how old my first one was, before the base became brittle and finally cracked. I scrub out the Maine Coon's every week, use liners for my Mom's cat's box, and scrub out every 2-3 weeks. Could not find this size in either of the big box pet stores, so searched WAY BACK to find the brand I purchased years ago for my big boy. And I'd definitely buy again!

The cat box is great. The swinging door on the hood is broken when I received it my cats don’t use it so I just leave it off, but it needs to be made better on that portion.

The door is a problem. I had to put wax on the connector tips to get it to move, otherwise it was stuck in the open position. When my 9 pound cat goes in, the door remains resting on his back while he’s in there. There’s no room for the door to go down while he’s in it. If your cat would have a problem with a plastic door on its back while doing business in there, this won’t work for you. My cat is very elderly so I don’t think he realizes it’s on his back. He did go in and immediately do his business and since the door was open, he easily left it. I bought this specifically because I wanted a door to keep his urine inside because he doesn’t squat, so this probably won’t work well for us. You will have to grease the pegs that hold the door on if you want it to move at all easily though because it will get stuck in an open position. The picture shows how it gets stuck open.

I absolutely love this litter box and while my fur baby has yet to use it, she is now able to enjoy her privacy once again ! The slope of the box is absolutely perfect to make Kodak feel like she has plenty of room while also compromising in size. For reference, my boyfriend and I recently moved into a smaller 4x4 with some of our friends and had to get a new bed frame which unfortunately was not tall enough for the old litter box (18”). Thankful, we now no longer have to keep the old litter box in our closet (🤢) and Kodak is now happy with multiple restrooms available both upstairs and downstairs!Cons:The reason why i’m leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is mainly because of shipping however partly a star docked for quality.Quality:- i am concerned for the door of the box because it easily falls off but nothing a simple home improvement can’t fix. and ofc our cat would prefer one w/o a door.- i am also concerned with the locking mechanism. There is no technical ‘latch’. You just pop the hood on top and you kind of have to maneuver it to get it to stay more securely. I definitely would not attempt trying to pick this up by the top. I did so when I originally opened my package prior to adding cat litter as a ‘test’ and it popped right off. But i’m not overly concerned.Shipping: I have a prime account and while Amazon originally planned for two day shipping, my package was delayed repeatedly for almost two weeks. To the point Amazon had told me to come back for a refund but then canceled my order and I had to specifically request a ‘new product’ to be sent. I was able to get my package within two days afterwards of my request even though they then planned to take up to another 7 business days. The reason this is 4/5 instead of 3/5 is only because i’m unsure of whether or not the shipping is the sellers fault, Amazon, or the delivery system itself.That aside, so far I really love the liter box and hopefully it holds up well. Another reason why I didn’t leave 3/5 stars is because I knew what I was getting into with the price of this item and purchasing online. Our original liter box was bought at Walmart and I just needed something cheap and ‘fast’.

This product is laughably bad. It is not functional, it is not made well, and the poor quality of the plastic is criminal. The cat door does not swing to let cats inside, and it will not stay on. If you try to press to open it, the door pops off again. The flimsy plastic body does not hold its shape. The top does not attach to the bottom and will not stay on. Add to that, the white top arrived scuffed with black marks all over it. I didn't even bother to pour litter in it, because it's absolutely nonfunctional. Within approximately 12 seconds of opening the box, I already knew this was going straight into the garbage (as I'm too inherently lazy to bestir myself to return this nonsense).

I was SUPER surprised at the size of this littler box. I have two cats and this box is perfect for the two of them. I bought a large dog kennel and put the box in that with a cover. Too large for my walk in closet and way too big to put in the bathroom. But I don’t have to have multiple litter boxes just one big enough for the both.

The door gets stuck open constantly, cheap and flimsy

Arrived quickly and is definitely worth the money. It's not the Trump Tower of kitty toilets but is definitely somewhere around a motel 6 or Days inn😂 100% recommend this item.
