After looking for a new camera setup for my house that didn't break the bank, I came across this setup. After looking at several options from wireless to wired, we ended up going with this setup... I was a little skeptical at the low cost, and was hoping it didn't effect the quality... well, its been almost a week now and I couldn't be happier with the quality... my only gripe is that I should have went with a wireless setup, aside from that im a happy camper and feel alot better knowing when we are out of town I can check in on my house...

This is a WIRED camera package. That being said, plan camera placement and wiring paths before hand. The kit includes 4 cameras which are HD but can downplay to standard to save NVR space. I've attached both from the same camera to compare the difference in definition. These come with 60' wiring adapters that will run both camera/control feed and the power input. The field of view is wide, about 110 degrees.The NVR is easy to setup, includes a mouse (USB), an HDMI cable for a monitor, and its power supply. It can also output VGA. The initial setup is very point and click allowing each camera to be seen for actual image. You can adjust the area on each camera for motion alerts, in case you have one pointed at a busy street.The NVR also has an additional capacity for 4 more cameras, totaling 8. The additional 4 would need to be purchased separately, but use the standard BNC connection.The only downside I've seen so far is there is no pc application for control. Control is either directly on NVR, through a phone app, or web-browser based. The phone app is intuitive, easy to control or change settings. Cameras can be viewed and alerts/notifications can be set. Geo-fencing can be enabled on the phone app so notifications are disabled within your home. This setting will burn your phone battery up however, as location services must always be on. I've used this app the most (iPhone), and have enjoyed the ability to enable a warning light on each camera, or there is a siren deterrent built-in to each. The siren isn't deafening, but is noticeable.Personally I had been planning to install a camera system, and wanted a wired kit. This is a great system to start with, and I like that I can add more cameras if desired.

I think these cameras are the same as some of the other brands I've seen, maybe they are made by the same company and re-branded? Anyway, they have good picture quality for 1080 cameras and the DVR is just fine, even though it feels kind of cheaply made. It was easy to install the hard drive (you have to purchase separately for the package I got, or use one you already have which is what I did). Once the hard drive was in, it's just going to sit on a shelf so I don't care how it's made. It works, that's all I care about. Easy enough to configure and get going. No problems so far. 5 stars. I'll update if I have any problems later.

Although there are no fans in the control unit it does not get hot. It is a little warm to the touch but not hot and nothing I am concerned about. I like that as excess heat leads to early drive failure. After placing one camera closer to the street than my home I am able to read license plates for vehicles stopping in front of my property. So I am happy with the control unit and the cameras. The next time I need replacements I will be looking to buy SANSCO.

Unreliable, hard to use and quit working in less than a year. If you put a hard drive in it is non returnable

Cameras have nice resolution on both the monitor and on my phone for live streaming. We had an issue with the DVR after one week. I couldn't get it to connect to my phone for live viewing. Service was very good about getting back with me. Solving the issue by replacing the DRV. System is running and connecting to my phone now.

The mouse was a piece of junk rest it was good It didn't have the screws for the hard drive either
