This is a fantastic product, the LOFT Battery Base is even Better than advertised.I went camping a week ago (Don't judge me) and took the Google Home with me.When we got into the Car i set up a "Hotspot" to my phone and the LOFT Battery Base took it from there, we played music and podcasts and the news All weekend at the Camp site. This is brilliant. Perhaps a little tricky to detach from the cord sometimes but I'm sure that'll wear in.This does, however, fix the obvious and fundamental problem with the Google Home - no battery for portability.Now I can take my Home to the garden, for example, or any other room I like within WiFi range.Tip: No Wifi? Set your phone hotspot to the same credentials as your home Wifi and tether. Then you can go ANYWHERE!8 hour battery life was, I thought, optimistic, but I've manged to get over 9 out of it the other week at a BBQ.Best accessory for the Home I ever got!

Unfortunately it has to be charged using the original power cord. This would be fine and charges fine but it is awkward to pull the power cord out when wanting to use it powered by the battery not the mains. The google power cord has not been made to keep being removed from the unit. I fear my power cord may end up unusable after constant use. The battery really needs to come with an optional extension lead to plug the google power cord into rather than straight into the bottom of the unit.Update (15/03/2020): The battery has died. I would not purchase this product again.

I am so pleased with this purchase. I can now drop the connecting power cable and move the speaker around the house and even onto the decking outside to keep my music and the radio going seemlessly. Esthetically pleasing too.Not too sure about the battery life at present as I have tended to use its portability for short periods only. I'll say more about this when we have tried it at a party or two in the next few weeks.

It makes the Google home look so much nicer then the fabric bottom it comes with and it's great to be able to take it round the house without being plugged in.The battery life is brilliant and the the bottom is made out of metal so it's really strong and sturdy with a non-slip bottom.I leave mine plugged in all the time I'm and don't seem to have any problems.I must say every owner of the Google home should have one of these.. Brilliant!

Great add-on for the GH. Looks good. Well made and, on testing, gave over ten hours non stop playback at fifty percent volume. Ideal for use in the garden, the shed and for those soaks in the bath.

Arrived next day as promised 3 hours to fully charge base and seems to work as described so far so this will be quick review as it’s first day and it was delivered as agreed and so far 3 hours after charging seems to be working as it should so here hoping it keeps working best price on amazon at the moment so this is the accessory every needs for the google home speaker ( not the mini one )

Great looking item (bought the copper version) that does exactly what it says on the tin.Changed my google home from a static location device to use wherever required. We transfer it to the bathroom so I can listen to music in there without having to run the power chord out of the door. Works flawlessly in our garden too and anywhere within reach of our WiFi signal.Haven't used it for an extended period of time yet (about 1-2 hours so far) so cannot comment on the total hours, but for what we need it for, it is great.Only issue I can foresee are the 4 battery indicator lights. Whilst useful, if in a place like the bedroom, will need to be covered or they will light up the room.Bought for less than £40 at the time so seemed a reasonable expense for the new portability.
