DOX Portable Battery Base for Amazon Echo Dot Black/Carbon

The product never properly worked, it does not maintain charge. It would be a good product if it worked.

I cannot believe Amazon does not have a portable Alexa speaker yet. The closest thing is the TAP that is discontinued. Well this is the ONLY docking solution I could find that allows me to use this specific generation Alexa and you dont have to fumble with a cable. I love that you can simply pick it up an drop it on its charger stand to charge.Everything about this works flawlessly, with 1 rather minor setback. THE AUDIO. Since you drop the Echo into the device it lowers the max volume of the ECHO dot slightly. Its certainly usable, but the DOT is already not the loudest device, so pairing it with this lowers it just a tad. I may take a dremel to this to improve the audio..My strange use case:I wanted to have the ECHO dot sitting on my bathroom counter on its dock, but while showering it I can quickly pick it up and move it closer to the shower so i can continue hearing it. (There is no plug near my shower so by having it run on battery for 30 minutes closer to the shower it would accomplish my goal)The Problem is with the noise of the shower and the fact the already low echo audio is then muffled slightly with this device left me a little disappointed.If you are fine with it being a just a slightly bit lower in audio than it is normally, than BUY IT. I recommend this 100%. Great packaging, really feels like a robust , definitely a quality product. It also makes the outdated Echo dot look more modern.

Great while they lasted. I bought one at the Amazon store and liked it so well I ordered 2 more. After a year, 2 of them have stopped working. Not recommended for that reason. Speaker boosted sound nicely and I loved the portability.

I use an Alexa Dot to bluetooth-stream music, etc. to a FM stereo transmitter that in turn broadcasts to my backyard sound system.I had purchased a pair of these from the manufacturer several years ago. One of the two had failed because of my negligence; I left it out of it's charging pad overnight while streaming music on several occasions. Needless to say it is not designed to be repeatedly drained and still perform.I purchased one from Amazon to replace the one I damaged - the 2nd one from my original purchase is still performing well after 3+ years and is used with a portable Bluetooth speaker in my courtyard.To minimize the chance of repeating my battery-drain mistakes, I'm now using the DOX to power a Dot that is only used to control an always-powered music-streaming DOT. This significantly increases the battery run time on the DOX (4-6+ hrs), allows me to control streaming content selection and volume without interrupting the stream during the command, and avoid buffering interruptions on WiFi while I move the DOX around in the backyard.I highly recommend this product for its battery life and portability.

The battery life it awful I mean when I originally got it,it was portable for up to 8 give or take a few hours but then as time progress it becomes less and after 6 months it stopped working, does not charge no light coming up on it i tried all troubleshooting but it just doesn't work.Maybe I got one that was defective but the company was so helpful after one message they responded right away and was able to get me a replacement this one is working beautifully so far.

This is about 10 months old. The main reason I purchased it was because the sound was supposed to be louder then the original dot speaker (it isn't). You're better off purchasing a new dot with improved speaker. The second reason it purchased it was for portability. It is, indeed, portable. It has been taken off of its base about a half a dozen times in the last 10 months. The power has completely drained a whopping 2 times. The second time (3 days ago), I put it back on the base and it has sat there since. Now it isn't working. The lights on the base light up. I made sure the power is on. I have even disconnected the echo and plugged it directly into the wall, and a different echo into this base. The base has pooped after less than a year.Spend the extra money on a newer echo. This is not worth it.

My DOT is free to roam! We have a wireless/waterproof speaker by our pool and this unit as well. Simple to use and looks stylish. The speaker can be close to the pool and it can get wet, while this sits back away from the pool (and out of danger). Not only can we play music, ask the time, etc., we can also use the ECHO/DOT announce features to relay messages in and out of the house which is a surprisingly useful function. Battery is still at 4 bars (dots) after hours of use. It has a really nice charging base, and one that you just set it on in any position (circular charging ring).I originally had an ECHO by the pool, but it was a pain to bring out, plug in, etc. With the DOX/DOT you can start it before you get to the pool and it is ready to play as soon as it boots. Innovative solution that expands the capabilities of the DOT (DOX + DOT + Water Proof Speaker = More Fun Outside).

Loved this when I first got it. Used it a lot when I worked outside or sat on my front porch. At first the battery life was really wonderful...now it does not even hold a charge longer than one half hour! Was getting ready to buy the larger one for my Echo. So glad I didn't because this one really started to be a disappointment. No longer serves the purpose for which I bought it!! Very disappointed. I recommended it to a lot of my friends and now have to take back my recommendations! Great idea but it is now practically useless!

La batería dura bastante tiempo y adicional a eso protege un poco al Echo Dot contra caídas. Perfecto para el Echo Doy 2da generación

An sich hat mir der Akku echt gut gefallen.Leider ist er nach 13 Monate schon kaputt.

Wir hatten vorher bereits eine Akkustation für den Echo Dot. Allerdings ist dort nach wenigen Wochen die Micro-USB-Buchse am Akku durch das häufige Ein- und Ausstecken kaputt gegangen. Diese Station hier von Ninety7 besteht aus einer zusätzlichen Ladeschale, auf die das Gerät einfach nur aufgelegt wird, ahnlich eines Wasserkochers. Ein super System! Defekte Buchsen können somit ausgeschlossen werden.Insgesamt ist diese Akkustation sehr wertig und ähnelt im Design sehr den aktuellen Echos, da auch sie mit Stoff bespannt ist. Der Akku hält zudem ausreichend lange durch. Die Bedienung ist sehr simpel. Die Ladestation hat uns dermaßen überzeugt, dass wir direkt eine zweite für unseren anderen Echo Dot bestellt haben!

Brilliant little battery doc I love the fact I do not need to unplug it to take it into another room just lift and go. The only small negative is the blue light on the power switch is really bright at night but it still gets 5 stars
