its has some kick!
alright... personally have went on a mission to try every mountain house meal not exspired and this is the newest product line i just tried. i use dehydrated pouch food for work regularly. well the new series of ethnic meals do not dissapoint. i am not one to eat a spicey pepper with seeds straight, pefer well spiced foods.this breakfest is probly one of their spicer meals i have had. toungue got a bit numb, got the spicey cough and took about three attempts to work through this $10 breakfest. don't misunderstand me because this has excellent flavor and is very yummy. this meal is for the adventurous and those that eat hoooottt stuffs. definitely worth a try once even for a regular person. would be a great pick-me-up on those dreary days. 11oz of water makes it a bit mushy and would likely use 8oz in the future of boiling hot water. get u s0me!

Rehydrated Well - Impressed the seasoned backpackers
I recently went on my first backpacking trip with some seasoned pros that have backpacked literally all over the world. I wasn't sure what to get because I have no experience with these things, but went with this because it sounded yummy and I eat plant based. It was delicious and when I whipped this out for breakfast all my seasoned backpacker friends were not only impressed, they were all jealous because their oatmeal paled in comparison. I really enjoyed the flavor and I feel that it rehydrated really well. I was sure to mix it really well during the re-hydrating process and also right before enjoying because I made the mistake of not mixing the meal I had had the night before well enough.Love that it's vegetarian and will be ordering this again next time I have the opportunity to go on another backpacking trip.

Time to eat!
In general I like the Mountain House meals for back country camping: quick and tasty. I'd rather focus on other things than making meals, and this does the trick. This particular breakfast is okay. Spicy and the eggs are a little weird, but it works. I personally like the Breakfast Skillet better. Do the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken for dinner.I heard this tip I want to try next time: if taking more than one Mountain House, empty each into their own, lighter bag. Take one of the Mountain House bags to mix the meals in. Lightens the load, but more importantly reduces the trash you have to deal with. Will try this on the next trip.

Worthy Vegetarian Attempt
I gave the product 4 stars simply because MH has taken the dive into vegetarian backpacking meals. With that said, why do companies always think they have to add fake meat to their dishes? Personally, this would have been much better without the Chorizo, or heck, they could offer the Chorizo, but also another one without the fake meat and substitute cheese for the added protein. There's a multitude of their existing products they could convert to vegetarian by simply removing the meat - for example, Biscuits and Gravy without the sausage.Anyway, the taste was pretty good, and equally important in my opinion, everything was cooked (often times, some of the backpacker pouch meals will have some uncooked foods like noodles that have a crunch to them).Hope to see more vegetarian options from MH (for inspiration, they should try all of Backpackers Pantry veggie options which I think are the best on the market, then create their own versions).

Go to breakfast pack
Next to Peak B/G, this one is where its at.....bring a tortilla and Tabasco and you've got an awesome hot breakfast. Seasoning is spot on and texture is great.....got to nail both those requirements or its just gross.

Great food for Camp EDC
These are the best for camping. Heat up some hot water, pour it in, give it a shake, wait a bit and enjoy! It’s especially great to see options that are vegetarian friendly. They’re a little on the pricey side, but for the convenience and packability they fit my needs. They’re very filling. I actually can’t eat a whole bag. Usually split it with another person. The texture is not bad either, it’s consistent.

Tasty and Convenient, But Pricey for Emergency Supplies
The Mountain House Veggie Chorizo Breakfast Scramble has a good flavor and is super easy to prepare—just add hot water. My husband bought it as a possible emergency food option, but honestly, it’s a bit too expensive for that purpose. It’s probably better suited for camping trips where you only need a fixed number of meals for a few days rather than for emergencies where you might need to feed your family for an unknown amount of time. Each container offers two servings (1 cup each), but from what I’ve seen, it’s not quite enough to satisfy the boys in my family. While it’s convenient and tasty, the cost makes it more appropriate for specific outings rather than stocking up for emergencies.
