Well, there goes $20 down the toilet. Be VERY conscious when fitting this thing. If you fail, as I and many others have, you will have a sad little chew toy.The fitting apparatus is necessary for the fit, but it comes at the cost of control. When I bit down after submerging the guard in boiling water, a small edge of the front portion of the guard in the rear got caught under one of my molars. The result is that I collapsed the rear of the guard under my molar, folding it under, tearing the outer form, and creating a jagged edge. This maneuver rendered the entire guard useless.Don’t make the same mistake. Use the fitting apparatus, but CAREFULLY check to ensure that all of your teeth are fully BEHIND the front of the guard. The apparatus has a natural tendency to fold it in on itself, resulting a failure like mine.I assume that this guard would have been great if fitted properly. A bit more detail and some caveats in the fitting instructions would have been greatly appreciated.

As with any contact sport mouthguard, it is an investment you don't want to skimp out on. As far as mouthguards go, this is comparable to most custom fit guards on the market at the 10-20 dollar price range- Fully functional and comfortable without being overengineered and asking for more than it's worth like some on the market.Included in this kit is your mouthguard, a fitting tray similar to those that dental professionals use to take molds, and a mouthguard carrying case.Following the directions to the exact step will get you results, however for the best results, a consistent temperature of around 170 degrees Fahrenheit should be applied for about 20-25 seconds. To achieve this, I've used a sous vide machine to create a water bath that stays at that temperature. The 100 degrees Celsius (212 Fahrenheit) recommendation in the manual does work, but is literally boiling water and not recommended for ANY boil to fit mouthguard. These directions may be the cause of many of the fit failures and floppy, squashed looking guards reported in the other reviews.Once fitted properly, the guard should stay on the top teeth with a little suction even when the users mouth is completely wide open. If you get to this point and there is not any shifting or moving or discomfort when biting gently down, then you have fitted your guard properly.As with any custom fit, boil to fit mouthguards, you may get this process right the first time or may mess up. That's just how these always go. Be ready to order another or have a spare on hand if you aren't 110% confident in your ability to follow all the steps in a timely, but unrushed manner while regulating the heating and cooling of water. Even the most familiar mess a mouthguard fitting once in a while.Included $15,000 dental protection is a nice touch as well. Unsure of how to claim it if needed but I hope I never will.Good product, just a tricky initial setup, which is usual of mouthguards. Recommended for contact sports, such as boxing.

Easy to use. Easy to fit. I like to use this formy boxing classes. Protects my teeth and mouth from injuries. It seems to fit well enough for small adults and maybe for big kids. I actually would like to buy a set in a different color than the black. Happy Shopping!

I got this for my son for football. What drew me to it was the compression tool. In seasons past my son is real timid on biting down on the guard, he has bitten through them in the past thinking he had to smash his teeth together to get them to fit. After doing that to a few he now gingerly bites down and does not get a good impression. With this that wasn't a fear and he got it fit the first time. He likes the colors and loves that it says UFC on it. It appears to provide him good protection at a cheaper price than we normally spend on his mouthguards. It doesn't have the retaining strap that most football mouthguards do, but he doesn't use them anyway - he thinks it looks more "pro" to stick it in the facemask when not in use.Overall, we are very happy with this product. It is at a good price and will save me money if I need to replace it or get next seasons (if this stays the same price, or I may just buy a couple more now and keep them on hand).

The compression cage as they call it is a nice feature as it keeps your bottom teeth from basically pancaking the whole mouth guard as you bite down on it. The case has adequate air holes in it to keep your mouth guard from getting damp and moldy if you forget to wash and dry it after use.I'm not a fan of the shiny gold lettering on the mouth guard though. I feel like this will flake/peel off in your mouth at some point.

I’ve had similar products like this, but this one actually comes with instruction that tells you how to make sure that you’re not gonna burn your mouth off after boiling it. I can’t believe one of most popular options on Amazon is actually one that recommends you directly, put it into your mouth after boiling it, which is insane! I absolutely regret doing that. It is kind of sad that you get one shot if you bite down all the way with one of these, I, however, recommend that you boil, insert and use a bit of pressure in the front to make sure you’re not gonna look goofy with these, make sure that it’s lined up and even. Otherwise, it’s a really cool brand as well feels very official with that bright, shiny gold.
