Makes excellent hummus and stews!
Hard to find organic garbanzo beans where I live, and my regular online source only had small bags. So tried this one and loved it! Great brand. I've been more than satisfied with almost every purchase from this site.

Very good quality
I am against overcooked meals, so this beans meet my expectations. After soaked for 24 hours, rinsed and added fresh water and be cooked just for 10 minutes, beans was soft and ready to eat. As soon as I cook all 5 pounds, my next step is to put portions of single use in freezer bags, put it in freezer and my other days meals will take me a minutes. Highly recommend

Bad beans
Dried beans are my main source of protein. I’ve been cooking a pound or two every week for over a decade. These are by far the worst beans I have ever purchased. I soaked them for 24 hours, and they were still hard after 3.5 hours of cooking. Then I switched to an Instant Pot. All the online articles said to pressure cook them for 15-18 minutes. Less if soaking. I soaked them for 24 hours and pressure cooked them for 34 minutes and they still weren’t soft. I don’t have hard water. The “Best Before” date is not for another three years. Dried beans should be consumed within a year of harvest. I’ve never seen so much debris mixed in. I also had to sift through them after cooking to pick out all the dark brown, hard beans. To save money, I bought 20 lbs. Now I’m stuck with $60 worth of garbage. This is not the first inferior product I received from this company. I’m done with the FOOD TO LIVE brand.

Great for the apocalypse or just your week's menu
So, I started buying non-perishables in bulk in the event of a natural (or unnatural) disaster so that my family won't starve. We cook up a batch of these about once every other week. We've made hummus, stir frys, wraps, you name it. If you do purchase these I recommend the following: Always soak the beans over night, change the soaking water a couple of times, if cooking in a pressure cooker, add about 5 more minutes to the cooking time and also allow the pressure to drop naturally instead of turning the pressure release valve to give 'em more time to cook. We found that our batch takes longer to become pleasantly soft after cooking.Pros: great price, wonderful value, taste wonderfulCons: need to cook longer than recommendedIf this review was helpful consider clicking the "Helpful" button below. yummy
These are very good chick peas and would recommend them as I have tried other brands from amazon that were not so good and very small. These are plump and tasty after I soaked and canned them.

Bugs on my garbanzo.
After a month and a half, stored in a dry place, sealed under my lazy Susan I wanted to make more hummus and after soaking there were this small Beatles all over the chickpeas. I look at all my other grains and cereals and lucky they’d not migrate any where else.
