Excellent Matt.
Having tried some of the other offerings out there....and been unimpressed with the longevity and after sales service of the manufacturers I decided to give the Therm-a-rest Base Camp Matt a go.The Matt has had good use and not let me down as of yet.Excellent R value and VERY warm and comfortable to sleep on.It is not the most packable Matt out there......but if you can cope or manage the bulk....the protection and comfort returned is so worth it.If you are looking for a Matt to use in a tent at a base location BUY ONE you will not be disappointed.Excellent on the ground (with protection)...or on top of a low camp bed.I now have two of these Matts and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone!

Great width
I love the quality of the material which feels very tough, the width is perfect, half way between a single and a double, this gives a comfortable width.Quite thick and will take a few extra blows to get it up to a decent pressure.Very pleased.

Do not believe the R-rating
Apparently this has an R-rating of 6. If it does, then I am Elvis Presley. I recently took my son camping in the Derbyshire peaks in November. He had this mat, which was in a tent which was on a ground sheet. He was in thermal base layer, some joggers and a fleece, and inside a 4 season bag. It was a mild night for November, and only got down to 6°C. Well inside the the range for this type of mat.He said he could feel the cold through the mat and was shivering for much of the night. I was on an Exped Downmat with a 8 R-rating. So we swapped for the second night. He was right, this mat does very little to protect you from the cold ground. I can confirm that this mat is NOT suitable for mild British winters. It was fine during the summer, but is hopeless for all year around like Therm-a-rest claim. Very disappointed considering the cost. Getting him an Exped mat.

Don't buy
Doesn't hold air there must be a split or manufacture fault, expensive inflatable matt adter first night in tent could go straight to bin
