It’s okay. My 16 month old is 30 pounds, probably a few more than that. He is heavy and hard to carry most of the time. But he loves being carried so I needed to find an option. While it is nice that I only need one hand to hold him instead of 2, there isn’t any place to put anything in it so the pocket Is basically useless. Plus I can’t see it when he’s sitting on the seat so, useless. It also sags down my hip until I need to take him off and re-tighten it. Which runs the risk of him running off cuz he loves exploring, or him losing his crap cuz I put him down. That, on top of being very uncomfortable while it slowly falls down. It pushes my “mom shelf” (if you know you know) into my abdomen which hurts and pulls my already stretched thin skin. If I could go back, I probably wouldn’t have purchased it and looked at different options.

I have a CHUNKY 11month old, I bought this when he was a super chunky 6month old. I also have rheumatoid arthritis—inflammation throughout my body. Friends, this thing actually saved my life. Not kidding, I’m in physical therapy for the damage my sweet chunk did to my arms when he went through an ugly 4 month sleep regression. At 6 months my amazing sister found and recommended one of these bad boys. It’s so easy to strap this around my waist, and it holds his whole weight, I just have to support his back. Oh my gosh!! Game changer. Let’s be real, there’s no points here for fashion. But also being real, I’m no small girl (5’7”, was 210lbs when I bought this….I’ve lost some of that but that’s beside the point), and there’s room to spare in the seatbelt-style fastener, so you curvy mamas are safe to order. The zipper pouch is a little bonus, I can stick my phone and keys in there to walk big brother to school. Or you know, a snack. Whatev.

I am glad that I found this waist carrier. As my little one gets older, he is getting heavier. Carrying him around has posed a big stress on my shoulder, my hip and my wrist. With this carrier, I can just have him sit on it and use one hand to support his back while I have a hand free to do chores. I especially love the anti slip material on the seat. It makes me feel so much safer for my baby to be sitting on it. I could bend down to pick up something off of the floor, I could go upstairs and downstairs and I even use it while doing a light workout at home (squats, lunges). Without the carrier, my baby would always slide down from my hip while holding him and hurt my wrist.This carrier fits both me and my husband well. I am a 5 ft lady and my husband is 6"1. It is very comfortable to wear and best of all is this carrier takes pressure off my hip. We love it, especially now that we both are working from home and spending a lot of time picking him up and carrying him around house, in the yard and working on chores. And honestly, my baby loves it too because he is sitting comfortably on the seat watching me doing stuff and not getting squashed by me or sliding down on my hip.Another very thoughtful design that I like is the storage on the strap. I don't always have pockets to carry phone with me but with this storage, I could put my phone in there and carry his snacks and pacifier in it too. Pretty convenient.I am glad we purchased hipbaby carrier. I would recommend it to all my friends and family.

We were looking for something that would help lighten the stress on our arms and back while carrying our 25+lbs. We looked around and found the Hip Seat Baby Carrier, we did not want an harness attached as we would want to carry the baby and put him down from time to time without the hassle. With this harness, we were able to have the baby cling onto us and still seat comfortably.Highly recommended.

We already have a strapped baby carrier but it's quite a lot of work to get the baby in and out, and it's usually more convenient for outdoor use. For daily use that we need to hold the baby on and off, this no-strap solution is perfect. Our baby has grown to a certain point that my wife starts to have a hard time holding him for long. Having this auxiliary option is great. Besides it doesn't get in the way of other work and chores, we could wear this around the house. Highly recommended for WFH moms and dads!Like some others have mentioned, you have to be a bit more careful since there's no strap. The anti-slip seat does its job well, and our boy has been quite active, so far it's been great. Overall a great product with excellent build quality.
