Kubros Despicable Me Minion Building Kit

It was mentally healthy to put this together and then the final product becomes an attractive desk decoration piece. I say mentally healthy because you have to use your intelligence (read: brain) to sort the pieces and figure out which piece matches what the instructions depict and then put them together. The instruction booklet has no words, so you can only follow it by looking at the pictures. There was at least one part of the instructions that was confusing for both me and my sister who had her own building kit too. She and I put on the neck wrong and it took analyzing the instructions to realize I had put the neck part pieces together wrong. The final product came out solid and and cute. It gives you a sense of achievement and looks very attractive on my desk. Win-win!

This is a really cool and inexpensive set. I bought it for my son for his birthday as a "pre birthday" present on the weekend of his birthday. He loved it and he put both this and the Evil Minion one together. They went together relatively easy and are more sturdy than I would have thought once put together. He is a huge Minions fan so this was the perfect gift.

We love these figures and have a small collection. This one the head didn't sit quite right and we couldn't figure out what was wrong. Still a great value for a pretty neat item.

My daughter had a lot of fun putting this together. She is 11 years old and found it a bit challenging but was able to complete it in about an hour. Since it was a little difficult, she was very proud of herself for finishing it. Great for a child who loves minions. It does not take too long to put together and is a nice change from the Legos. Looks good on a shelf once finished.

It's cute, but this is not from the Lego brand so a bit difficult to assembly, but the price is also slightly cheaper than lego.

I am a Lego fan, but I kept that in mind as I reviewed this, not wanting it to make my review unfair.So, lets start with the kit. The pieces do not fit together as well as Lego pieces do. That’s not a huge thing, but it’s a little annoying with some of the steps.I have to say that the instructions are much better than Lego ones –MegaBlox devised a very clear way to show what piece to put, and where to put it. That was nice. However, they lace the style Lego shows – if this were a Lego set, it would be hollow – allowing things to go inside it – this set is solid, no room inside for anything. The feet fall off easily, which gets old fast.Plus there are many “special” bricks that will limit the owners ability to make other things out of the set. Although, that is moot if you have a sizable MegaBlox collection already.The finished piece is nice – a little boxy – think Minions meets Minecraft.My issue is the price though. If you look at Lego sets (aside from brand ones like Disney and some of the collectable ones) the cost is around 10c per brick.This set works out at almost 30cents per brick. Three times the cost of a comparably sized Lego set.The quality does not warrant that price. Despite the added value of the Despicable Me brand. If it was rounder, more interactive, or had stronger feet I would be inclines to give it a better scoreIf the shortcomings don’t bother you, and your life *needs* all things “Despicable Me” then you will enjoy this.If someone else is paying for it, you will find it a bargain.Otherwise I would recommend you get your Despicable Me and building set fix from a better product.

Got this as a gift for Christmas. Went to build it with the recipient today, and there are missing pieces.Total waste of money. After looking it up, apparently missing pieces are a common issue with this brand. Don't waste your money. It's too far past the purchase date for me to get a refund, so I threw $10 in that garbage.
