Very elegant and functional smart health monitor that might save your life
Purchased to replace Withings HR Steel. Includes both built-in Oxygen Sats and ECG compared with the HR Steel. I have confidence in the Scan version of this health monitoring watch. The watch face has a minimalist analogue design with a large circular digital display. Functions are selected via a revolving & push to select winder button on the right edge (the HR Steel version has a push to select only button). The display on the Scan watch is significantly larger than that on the HR Steel and is used effectively to indicate the ECG and O2 Stats monitoring. The watch has standard sleep monitoring functions and can sense sleep apnea due to the O2 Sats continuous monitoring while monitoring sleep. The watch also continually monitors ECG and will report any Atrial Fibrillation (AF) events encouraging visits to A&E or GP to investigate. The mobile App (Android & iOS) Health integrates data (read and write) with Android and Apple Health systems. The App is adequate for monitoring health parameters but could benefit from refurbishment/upgrade as it feels rather basic and lacks sophistication. I have a number of Withings health monitoring devices such as BP monitor, smart weighing scales & thermometer, which are all well designed and feel accurate (due to the specification rather than actual comparison with professional equipment), a perception which extends to the Scan watch. The Scan watch is an excellent companion ‘always on’ health monitor and could potentially save your life given the continuous AF monitoring. An almost eccentric feature of Withings analogue health watches is the analogue Step indicator dial which shows the percentage of target daily step count completed. It provides a very quick indicator of step count compared to Smart watches which may need the user to use multiple button pushes to display this data.Compared with Smart watches the Withings Health Scan watch’s superb battery life with over a week between charges (compared with daily recharge requirements), on top of which the charge time from <5% residual charge is in the region of 2-3 hours. The watch charge stand is not as elegant as, say, Samsung’s vertical Galaxy Watch charge stand but is magnetic and relatively easy to use and orientate. The Withings Health Scan watch is quite expensive compared to Android Smart watches (not Apple Watches!) and the Withings HR Steel but it is well worth the money with the continuous ECG and O2 Sats monitoring - it might save your life….

Received this Scan Watch this evening. Delighted. Elegant, clear and very fast to respond.
I just wanted to say, given Christmas is coming, that this watch, for my 55th Wedding Anniversary present.it just so comfortable, easy to set up, if you download the mobile app programme suited to your IOS, and has seemed to be very accurate. The instruction book was in English, very clear with plenty of information about exactly what it will or will not do. Such a joy to read good English! The 'system or functionality seems so well designed and intuitive. The interface is so simple and clear and exactly as pictured, but actually smarter and neater.Previously, I found swiping a touch screen very difficult as my skin is so smooth and does not register. So, just so great to use a push button to wake it, and a scrolling 'crown' (winder) to select an icon in the small black window with label, with another push, all very bright and clear. Just a straight forward menu, with no sub-menus .to frustrate one. The 'crown' is a good size and very positive to push for selection.I particularly wanted a nicer, smarter watch than my last two which were more for exercise than health. I have certainly received that!I did not want bulk and this is flatter yet substantial, amazingly comfortable and suitable for male or female. Many more choices of strap lengths too, , ie. more, closer spaced holes for the buckle.I also wanted a watch that would give health statistics, just enough to reassure me, given some issues. It gave me accurate 02 and heart rate readings, plus did a single line heart ECG reading, which reflected what I already knew, so I trust it. If you had severe heart problems, it would not take readings but would signal that to you. There are all the features of the more expensive range of titbits, notifications of messages etc.It is much better than my last fit bit, as it uses both sides of the body to do the top and bottom funcition of the heart ie. the wrist and opposite hand in contact with the watch..Just so comfortable to have a soft, thinner silicone wrist strap, on a large clear (38mm or 42) mm face instead of a tiny face and thick, bulky strap. Truly delighted by my partner's choice, given my wishes. If there are any problems, I will update this. It has a two year guarantee so sounds as if I shall not be complaining during that time, I expect!Update 18th Dec. Absolutely thrilled with this watch still. Admitted to hospital and could do my own checks on my heart rhythm etc. while the statistics were on the screen, but also to verify. the accuracy This is very close to being 100% accurate! Just wish I could have the BP read and displayed too, but this watch does not do that. Only downside. So comfortable and smart. Not sponsored but just delighted.
