George Michael: The Biography Paperback – April 1, 2009

If you watch George Michael's interviews on YouTube on Parkinson, and such documentaries as A Different Story, you will know everything in this and other GM biographies and see the man talking himself. Biographers simply cobble together old interviews and articles and put them into books with practically no new information and clearly no input from GM or those close to him. Really, watch the extensive material featuring him on YouTube and you will see him tell his own story

Love George Michael, and this book was a pretty good summary of his life. It covers a little of his family history, and then continues about how he launched his outstanding career. He was so driven from such a young age. And yes, he did have a wild side, but that was part of his charm! I find him to be a fascinating person. He was fearless in so many ways, yet vulnerable in so many other ways, but he eventually found a balance, and lived his life the way he wanted to. I just hope and pray that people will remember him for his beautiful soul and talent, and respect his privacy for his personal life. He was such a gifted artist, and a generous person--he was one of a kind, and he is missed.

As a fan of George Michael since his early Wham Days I was interested to see what his biography would say....his perception of his early days as well as some of his hijinks and shanagans. Well, even though as I said I was always a fan. I truly loved this book. I couldn't put it down from the time I started it. Its an easy read and an enjoyable one at that. If you've ever wondered what George's perception on things was as far as his career and personal situations...then this would truly be worth every penny to you. I absolutely loved it!!!

Read the book in one day-couldn't put it down. Answered my questions since I have been a long fan. Chapter five, Freedom 1985-1986 told the whole story in my opinion. His first love (no names) The first paragraph tells you it was his first love (22 yrs old.) He always stated that he loved women and all his songs were about his relationships up until 1990. I wondered who he wrote "A Different Corner " for, and now I know. He even dedicated it on the back sleeve, wow, that speaks volumes! I see how it shaped his career choices in the early 1990's. He also mentioned that in his early twenties, he wanted to have children. In my own opinion, due to the hurt and pain, relationships with women made it hard for him to emotionally connect (trust). I loved reading about GM and Andy growing up together, forming the band. Thanks for the great reading!

This book...Michael's biography, give me some insight of his life and I got to understand him more. His hurt and pain after his loved ones passed...his first love and then his Mom. I was feeling his pain with him...he was like a tortured soul, his ups and downs and dealing with a relentless media who wouldn't leave him alone. You don't know the pain that someone is going through, unless you are there to experience it with them and was truly hurting. He was a very smart business man, although very opinionated at times.

Loved it!!!! What a phenomenal showman!! Beautiful man inside and out!! I still can't believe he is gone! He puts on a hell of a show. I never was privileged or fortunate enough to see him but do I wish I had!!!!! This is definitely the next best thing. You can feel the adrenaline and the soulful energy from this beautiful man!! He will be missed!!! There is no other talent/ voice like his in my opinion!!

This book felt like I was reading Wikipedia. Factual and chronological with no interesting insights or information. Pages of lists of concerts, songs, etc. but nothing personal. I'm assuming it was also written before he died and therefore the last chapter being entitled "Survivor 2003 - present" was ironic and sad. I've seen a few biographical television shows which prompted me to purchase this book, but the television shows gave much more insight and personality to this talented yet tormented man.

His struggle to become a pop star desperately at a young age. He struggled to move beyond Wham! and be relevant in the industry. He struggled with coming out, with love and loneliness. He struggled with grief and loss, Sony, arrests yet he kept going and came out on top.

This was an interesting read for George Michael fans.Michael was an icon from his days with Wham to being a superb solo artist. He was a talent taken too soon. Rest in peace George Michael. Thank you for the music.

A really good read. I couldn't put it down and it made me hungry to read more about this lovely man.

Nice book to read for a big George Michael and Wham fan . Already knew a lot that's in the book but still great to read as bought back loads of lovely happy memories of seeing George and Wham . Would recommend great easy read. Just so sad that George is no longer here RIP George

all things George Michael make me happy...living in the States, memorabilia of George is extremely limited so i am very happy to be able to shop from Amazon UK...have been well pleased with all the George Michael items i have purchased, disappointed at the fact that some of the things i wanted to buy either cannot be shipped to the US or else the shipping fees were a little bit overwhelming and unaffordable for me..but the products themselves have all been perfect

I love anything to do with George Michael books posted .you name it I have it ....This book was my as well documented as previous books I've read on his career but it was still about a fantastic man who will be very much missed by all his fans .....I LOVE YOU GEORGE ALWAYSXXXX
